Welcome to All Saints Church, Witley

All Saints Church, Witley, Surrey

SUMMER AT ALL SAINTS

Yes, it's true - our Vicar, The Reverend Jane Vlach is leaving us, to become the Vicar of Godalming Parish - but not yet. She is here for the rest of the summer and very much part of everything. The date of her leaving party will be announced as soon as we know. There is a lot going on, so please come and join in anything that appeals to you.

Sunday services are the same with cake sales after the services on May 7th & 21st. June 4th and July 2nd, all in aid of the KWASA visit.

We are delighted to announce that Bex from Child of Hope School Uganda will be joining us on SUNDAY MAY 21st at both services, to tell us more about the work of this remarkable school. Every year has seen further expansion and now the school is able to help so many children and families who would have had no means of education or earning money without it. This year Moses is accompanying Bex, so it will be a joy to welcome him and hear how he set up a nursery for slum children that is now a thriving school with the first pupils entering high school or earning money.

SWIMATHON on SUNDAY 14th MAY 2-5pm at King Edward's School for KWASA.

WITLEY MARATHON with a difference on SUNDAY 2nd JULY. A 1 mile lap around Witley will be run 26 times by the 7 teenagers who are going to KWASA, starting around mid-day. Please come and support them on the day and sponsor them per mile if you can. Refreshments will be available at various point round the village and afterwards at a central point.

CHORAL EVENSONG 6.00pm SUNDAY 9th JULY. Come and enjoy a traditional service with great singing from our talented choir.

SUMMER WOW is back, with worship in church and rounders on the rec. 3.00pm on SUNDAY 16TH JULY

A Celebration of the Saxaphone - with John Harle.
At King Edward's School, 7.30pm Saturday 29th April 2017.

The fundraising by the young people continues. In July seven of them will be joining others from Holy Trinity Guildford to volunteer at a developing school in Springs South Africa. The KWASA Centre provides education and more for very deprived children and families. Our young people are going to assist in many ways for one week, and they fund the trip themselves.

Lots going on as well as the all important regular Sunday worship which fuels it all

If anyone would like to speak to Jane or Ann, please ring or email and we will endeavour to meet you as soon as we can.

The All Saints Parish Office, is in the grounds of Witley Infant School, opposite the Church.

Wishing you every blessing
Jane and Ann

The parish of Witley is made up of the villages of Witley, Brook, Wormley and Sandhills. The Parish Church of All Saints dates from about 1040 and is situated just off the main Petworth Road (A283) in Church Lane, opposite the White Hart public house. Witley CofE Infant School is opposite the church and has close links with it.

Apart from a regular pattern of worship on Sundays and Holy Days, the church serves the whole parish and after recent refurbishment is available every day for a variety of uses. The door is open in daylight hours for anyone who may wish to spend a quiet few moments or longer in the peace and quiet of this ancient building.

The mission of the church in Witley is to bring the love of God to all who live and work there. The church is open to all people, and here to serve the entire parish. Everyone is welcome at all services and other events and anyone is welcome to use the space in church for their own charitable or social events where appropriate. Click here for more information on using the church for your event.

If you are new to the area you are very welcome! There are a wide range of activities going on around the church that may interest you.

A team of Pastoral Assistants visit the housebound, take Communion to those who can't get to church for whatever reason, and generally help the clergy keep an eye on pastoral needs.

Jane and Ann are always available to talk to and welcome you. Enjoy the web-site!
