The Choir - Easter Sunday 2017

The Choir

Witley Parish Church Choir exists to lead the worship at the sung services in church. We are an enthusiastic mixed choir of boys, girls and adults aged 6+. We meet regularly to practise on Friday evenings and lead the 10.00am service on Sundays. Once a term we also sing evensong, and can be booked for weddings, funerals and baptisms.

Practices for junior choristers include training in vocal technique and the basics of music reading. We use the Royal School of Church Music's 'Voice for Life' scheme, where the different stages are marked by the awarding of coloured ribbons. Choristers can also take Area and National awards.

Singing is proven to be good for you! New members are always welcome.

The choir is open to girls and boys aged from about 6+ (they should be able to read), and adults interested in singing (previous experience valued but not required).

We were especially pleased that, in 2016, two choristers from our choir won cathedral choristerships (a girl to Salisbury, and a boy to Chichester).
